"The Turn 2 Foundation creates programs and activities that promote healthy lifestyles, academic excellence and leadership development," remarked Derek Jeter. "We believe that exposing our Jeter's Leaders to the arts helps them become more well-rounded, successful individuals.  I thank Movado for sharing our vision and supporting our goals through exceptional activities, like tonight's concert, that enrich the students' education and life experience."

This special event provided a unique opportunity for the students to meet Wynton Marsalis, Managing and Artistic Director of JALC, who presented a brief history of jazz music and discussed its influence on the American culture. Wynton described the goals, mission and vision of Jazz at Lincoln Center and how they relate to the continued development of the art of jazz music. The importance of being a role model and the responsibility to give back to society were also primary themes of the interactive discussion which featured a lively question and answer session with Wynton. The reception was followed by Jazz at Lincoln Center's annual Big Band Holiday Concert, with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra performing more than a dozen imaginative arrangements of timeless holiday songs.

"We are very excited to provide these students with the opportunity to experience the art of jazz music through this wonderful evening at Jazz at Lincoln Center," stated Mary Leach, Chief Marketing Officer, Movado Group, Inc.  "Jazz music holds such a unique and defining place in our culture, and to engage with Wynton Marsalis himself is truly special – I thank both Derek Jeter and Wynton Marsalis for their devotion and commitment to education, and for partnering with Movado.  We are absolutely thrilled to be able to support the Turn 2 organization."
